Field Trip Scheduling for 2008-2009 is now open for K-8 grades keyed to curriculum on a first-come, first-serve basis by date and by email or phone 301.570.5722.  Participate in authentic learning experiences at Woodlawn (WMM).

In-County Field Trips… Save gas, mileage, and time!  No lottery, no waiting.

Woodlawn Manor Museum in Montgomery County offers a variety of educational programs keyed to curriculum in cultural and environmental studies for groups of all ages from 10 am to 1 pm Monday – Friday with special afternoon tours.  We can present to classes or to entire grade levels by rotating groups thru stations with participation of visiting teacher teams to insure student success of large groups.
 
Local lore suggests that Woodlawn's Historic Stone Barn c. 1832 was a stop on
The Underground Railroad in old Quaker Sandy Spring.  Underground Railroad Experience Programs and Trail Hikes are available for groups.
 
 
The general field trip admission fee is due on arrival and is $6.50 per student with teachers free and one free chaperone per class to assist... plus free parking.  Adults are very welcome and the admission fee is $4.50.  Picnic tables available. Plantation Manor House c.1774 with stone barn, dairy, smokehouse, log slave cabin, general store, gazebo gardens, carriage house school on 100 acres surrounded by extensive meadow, woodland trails, pond and streams.
 
Westward Ho Wagon Train and some other programs with extended day time will have prices that vary according to requests for length of program and activities.
 
Summer Camp groups and others may schedule for Hands-On-History Day Programs, the North Star Challenge Course, Underground Railroad Experience Programs & Hikes, or Teas & Tours.  Children's Colonial or Pioneer Birthday Theme Teas Available.  Fees vary.
 
The North Star Challenge Course for 4th grade thru adult staff groups is also available to foster team building and human relations.  Group activities promote trust, caring, and cooperative behavior among group members in this outdoor adventure. School staffs are welcome for an enjoyable Human Relations Activity Day in preparation for the new school year...light activities and cookout.  The Underground Railroad Experience Trail Hike is available for Human Relations as well.  Fees vary.
